Abstract: In order to research the basic theory of the rheological mechanism and formula design of the gel fuel, according to the special solid-liquid state of gel, inorganic and organic gel agents for gelation aviation kerosene RP-1 are searched and then the gelation mechanism, rheological characterization and stability are studied. Finally, the rheological parameters are measured by Brookfield rotational rheometer and the HBE constitutive equation is built. The results show that, the inorganic kerosene gel made by high speed dispersion has better quality than that made by three-roller grinding. The anhydrous ethanol is advantageous for the gelation of kerosene by gel agent A. The physical stability of the inorganic kerosene gel is affected by gel content significantly,6% and 7% inorganic gel will be chosen for use. The thinning ability of the kerosene gel prepared is stronger than that of the typical shear thinned fluid(0
